Thai Basil – Ocimum basilicum
Narrow leaves packed with a spicy clove-like flavor on beautiful dark purple stems with stunning purple flowers.
SOW seeds indoors at any time, or outdoors after warm spring weather has arrived. Start transplants about 6 weeks before planting out.
HARVEST individual leaves or young groupings of leaves often to encourage new growth and leaf production. Basil flowers are edible too, with a concentrated basil flavor. Begin harvesting in 70 to 80 days.
TIPS Basil can be stressed by high temperatures, forcing it to flower earlier. Provide consistent moisture all season long.
